Obituary of Joan E. Groves

Joan E. Groves, age 78, of Gloversville, died September 30, 2023, at St. Johnsville Rehab & Nursing Home.

She was born December 22, 1944, in Gloversville, the daughter of Archibald and Elvira (Smith) Montoney. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice R. Groves.

"Joan E. Groves has gone home to be with the Lord. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, sister-in-law and she was most of all an aunt. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She made friends wherever she went. She was a kind lady and always cared about everyone. She loved bingo and walking around town. She lived her life to the fullest. She worked for many local businesses and when she retired, she picked up bottles and cans to return. She died gracefully, doing what she loved to do. She will be missed very much.

There will be no viewing and there will be a private ceremony at a later date. In memory of Joan Groves be kind and pass it forward."
