Dr. Hugh N. Boroson, 97, of Richmond Heights, Ohio, formerly of Gloversville, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the David Simpson Hospice House, Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born January 11, 1926, in Brooklyn, NY, the eldest son of Henry and Cecilia (Wersan) Boroson. After graduating as valedictorian of Memorial High School in West New York, NJ, he served in the US Army in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Following his graduation from NYU Medical School, Dr. Boroson practiced radiology in upstate Minnesota. Upon meeting and marrying Dorothy, she convinced him to come back east and settle in Pittsfield, MA and later Gloversville, NY. He was an avid lover of ragtime music and enjoyed playing the piano despite never having had a single lesson. His memberships included Knesseth Israel Synagogue, Gloversville, the Ohio Stereo Photographic Society, the International Stereoscopic Union, the American Medical Association and the NYS Medical Society.
Dr. Boroson is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Perpelitt) Boroson of Richmond Heights, OH; three children, Bonnie Boroson of Cleveland OH, Bill Boroson of Lyndhurst, OH and Craig Boroson of Spring City, PA; two granddaughters, Talia Eden Boroson and Anika Roan Boroson; as well as three nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three siblings, Warren Boroson, Roger Boroson and Glenna Boroson.
A graveside service will take place 11:00 am Monday, October 23rd at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Clyde St; Gloversville, NY, with Rabbi Suzanne J. Schermerhorn officiating.
