Obituary of Jean Marie Palmatier

 

Amsterdam - Jean Marie Palmatier, 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at River Ridge Living Center, a previous resident of Arkell Hall in Canajoharie.


Born on October 25, 1926, in Fultonville, a daughter of the late George and Ada (Borden) Friers. A lifelong area resident, Jean graduated from Fultonville High School, Class of 1943. 


Jean worked in the glove industry, clothing retail and modeled for various shops within the Capital District. She was a past member of Daughters of the American Revolution of Fort Plain, also known as DAR. 


Besides her parents, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Rosalynn Marvin, who passed away on March 25, 1995; her sisters, Irene Meyer, Elois Cole, Dorothy Rose and Kathryn Lusso; her brother, G. Arthur Friers; nephews, Stanley Friers and Ralph Rose; sister and brother in laws and her previous husbands, Robert Templeton and Thomas Palmatier. 


Jean is survived by her brother, David (Cindy) Friers of Fultonville, NY, James Friers of Madison, NY and Robert Friers of Oriskany, NY. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. 


A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Maple Ave Cemetery, Fultonville.


The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you for the love and care of Jean at both Arkell Hall and River Ridge Living Center.


Memorial donations can be made in Jean's name to a charity of one's choice.


Jean's care has been entrusted to Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.
