Obituary of Floyd D. Blowers

Floyd D. Blowers, 86, of Amsterdam, NY entered his Eternal rest on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Floyd was born in Benson, NY on May 18, 1937, son of the late Grant R. and Alice (Waite) Blowers.

Floyd was educated in Benson, NY, and graduated from Northville School. He worked at the General Electric Company as a Plant Protection Patrolman for 30 years, until his retirement in 1996.

Floyd was first married to the late Charlotte J. Tomlinson in 1954. The pair shared 31 years together, until her passing in September of 1985.

Floyd married Angeline Piazza on February 12, 1998, and they cherished their Peek-a-Poo, Starr who gave them so much joy and happiness because of his faithfulness and love.

Floyd is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 25 years, Angeline J. Piazza-Blowers; his son, Darryl M. Blowers; his sister, Charlene (Leo) Dunham; as well as 4 grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

Aside from his parents, Grant and Alice, and his wife, Charlotte, Floyd is preceded in passing by his daughter, Darlene Rose Blowers; his brothers, Loren R. Blowers and Robert G. Blowers; as well as by his sisters, Lillian Bell, Gloria Mesick, Cora McCloskey, and Lorraine Markiewicz. 

Family and friends are invited, and may call on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 10 until 11 in the morning at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main Street, Gloversville, New York 12078. A Mass of Christian burial will follow the calling period at 11 o'clock with Fr. Matt Wetsel presiding. Interment services will be held in the spring, at a date to be announced.
