Obituary of Henry l. Lowenski, Jr.

Henry l. Lowenski Jr., 76, passed away suddenly at River Ridge Rehab Facility in Amsterdam on December 31, 2023.

He was born on February 6, 1947, to Henry l. Lowenski Sr. and Irma (VanArsdale) Lowenski, living most of his life in Auriesville, NY.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Demarest) Lowenski whom he married in 1983; his son, Michael Lowenski of Auriesville; sister-in-law, Catherine Lowenski and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Lowenski.

Henry graduated from Fulton Montgomery Community College and subsequently received a degree in Education from SUNY Oneonta. He taught school at Johnstown and Gloversville public schools before changing to a career in retail and restaurant management. He later took a position with the NYS Department of Tax and Finance where he remained for over 22 years, retiring in 2006.

He spent his retirement enjoying traveling; as an avid NY Yankees fan, he visited Yankee Stadium often and attended various stadiums on the east coast as well as the west coast whenever possible. He enjoyed reading and was able to discuss a wide variety of subjects, sometimes leading to lively conversation.

A funeral service for Henry will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 12pm with Rev. Linda Gold presiding, calling hours will be held prior beginning at 10am at Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Ayers Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY, 12166.
