Obituary of Angeline Ruggeri

Angeline Ruggeri, age 102, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Fulton Center, Gloversville.

She was born July 16, 1921, in Gloversville, the daughter of Anthony and Mariastella (Cassero) Ficili. She was employed as a glove maker by Ambroson Gloves, Rubin Gloves and Mario Papa and Sons.  Angie was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit and its Sisters of the Holy Spirit and the Gloversville Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a son, Joseph A. Ruggeri; two granddaughters, Cristina Ruggeri and Jennifer Gottung (Jim); a great-granddaughter, Lindsay Brockhum; a sister-in-law, Florence Ficili; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Ruggeri; four brothers, Joseph Ficili, Carmen Ficili, Michael Ficili and Salvatore Ficili. 

The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 am to 11 am Friday, April 19th at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St., Gloversville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am with the Rev. Matthew Wetsel officiating.

Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Church of the Holy Spirit, 153 S. Main St; Gloversville, NY 12078.
