Obituary of Henry D. Jones

Mr. Henry D. Jones, 89, formerly of Happy Hollow Road, Fort Plain died peacefully on Monday, December 7, 2015 with his family by his side. A lifelong area resident, Henry was born on November 16, 1926 in the Town of Canajoharie to the late Henry and Hazel Nichols Jones. He attended local schools. Henry along with his father owned and operated the Jones Family Farm on Clinton Road until his retirement in 1990. He then continued to work part time for several years after. He was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau and the Seebers Lane Grange. He was also of the Methodist faith and a member of the Freysbush United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jane S. Jones; a step son, Jeffrey Roof; a brother in law, Donald Nestle; two sisters in law, Janet Shuster and Vera Croote; and close friends, Jamie and Rachel Moyer. Henry was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Eileen Nestle. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11 o'clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie Burial will follow in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
