Obituary of Robert Blencoe

Robert Blencoe, 74, went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2017 after a short illness at Ellis Hospital. Currently residing at 35 W. Grand St, Palatine Bridge, NY, Bob was born August 22, 1943 to Anna (Putman) Blencoe and the late Carlton Blencoe. He was raised in Starkville, where he graduated from Owen D Young in 1961. He married Linda Evelyn Jones in 1965, took employment at General Electric where he worked for 40 years and raised his family in Amsterdam NY. He was an active member of the Cranesville Reformed Church, a devoted husband and a loving father to his son and daughter. Bob enjoyed gardening with his wife at their Cranesville home and continued that passion when they moved to Palatine Bridge after retirement. He was hard-working, thoughtful and generous to those who knew him, and he loved to help people. He is predeceased by Linda, his loving wife of 46 years. He is survived by his mother, Anna Nellis of Fort Plain, NY; his son Brian Blencoe of Casselberry, FL; his daughter Nancy MacFadden of Sharon Springs, NY; his sister Barbara Masi of Ft Plain, NY; and several nephews and a niece. Bob was also blessed with many friends and companions who appreciated his humor and unique personality. Relatives and friends are invited to Calling Hours on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4 until 7p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Private interment will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Bob would prefer that you spoil someone you love or serve someone in need.
