Obituary of Mildred A. Mosher

Mrs. Mildred A. Mosher, age 86, of Johnstown, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville. She was born October 26, 1931 in Gloversville, the daughter of Frederick and Florence (White) Wessendorf. Always working during her lifetime, Mildred performed housework in the area while she was in High School. She was a 1950 graduate from Gloversville High School. She later worked at Candyland, Seild's Knitting Co; Royal Knitting Co; Decca Records for many years and retired from Lexington Center in 1994. A 30 year member of Believer's Family Church Johnstown, she was also a member of Gloversville TOPS 789, a member of Women of the Moose of Johnstown and played on a golf league at Holland Meadows Golf Club. In earlier years, she enjoyed boating and camping on the Sacandaga Reservoir with family and friends. She enjoyed a trip to England with her husband; traveling to Florida, Las Vegas and bus trips to Turning Stone. She loved to play BINGO, enjoyed blueberry picking and gardening. Most of all, she loved spending time at family gatherings with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mildred is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Fred R. Mosher of Johnstown; two daughters, Connie and husband Pastor Philp Carey and Linda and husband Wrandy Siarkowski, all of Gloversville; two sisters, Beatrice and husband Richard Wilkinson of Florida and Geraldine and husband Harry Clute of Gloversville; a brother, Edward Wessendorf and wife Beverly of Florida; three granddaughters, Jaime and husband Anthony Luciano of Gloversville, Kimberly and husband Nelson Tyler of Amsterdam, Melissa and husband Braedon Fisher of Gloversville; four great-grandchildren, Alexa, Emmily and Reese Luciano and Gracie Tyler. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, as well as her dear childhood friend, Esther Looman and her husband Carl. She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Fred Wessendorf, whose wife Patricia survives. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4pm Sunday, January 7 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will follow at 4pm with Pastor Philip W.B. Carey, son-in-law of the deceased, officiating. Interment will take place privately on Monday at the convenience of the family at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
