Obituary of Wayne C. Lampkin

Wayne C. Lampkin, 61, of High Gate Road, Newington, CT died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital while visiting family and friends. Born on October 2, 1950 in Amsterdam, New York he was the son of late Charles and Thelma Tallmadge Lampkin. Wayne grew up in the Town of Florida and was a 1968 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. He then went on to graduate from the University at Albany in 1972. Following graduation he moved to Connecticut where he began his career in Information Technology. Following his recent retirement, Wayne enjoyed researching his family's genealogy and visiting family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother in law, David Ploch. Survivors include two sisters, Elaine Ploch of Cromwell, CT and Lorraine Loren Earle of Lockport, NY; his nieces and nephews, Michael and Karen Ploch and Jacob and Kelsie Earle; cousins, James and Margaret Knack and their sons, Thomas and Kevin; several Aunts, Uncles and other cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 12 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call one hour prior to the service beginning at 11 o'clock. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:30p.m. at the First Church of Windsor, 107 Palisado Avenue, Route 159, Windsor, CT 06095. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to charity of choice.
