Obituary of Ralph A. Alois

Ralph A. Alois, 92, of Clinton Street, Hagaman, died peacefully Friday, February 19, 2010 at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam. He was born in Schenectady June 24, 1917 a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Santor Alois, Sr. Ralph was raised in the Schenectady area and attended local schools. He then served his country during the WWII era with the US Navy before being employed with the US Postal Service, retiring after many years of service. Ralph was of Roman Catholic faith and was a devout communicant of St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. He liked to draw caricatures of people and enjoyed writing poetry. His loving family includes his wife June M. Alois of Hagaman, his two sons David G. Alois Jacquie Embs of Sacramento, CA and Peter L. Alois of Ballston Spa, NY, his daughters Paulette K. Alois Johnson of Rensselaer, NY and Pamela M. Alois Caballero of Sacramento, CA, his brother Harvey Alois of Niskayuna, NY, his step-son David J. Rossi of Crockett, CA and his step-daughter Roberta M. Rossi of Amsterdam. Nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and nine nieces and nephews also survive. Ralph was predeceased by his brothers Joseph, James and William Alois and his sisters Lucille Kennedy and Helen Enos. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman with Fr. Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:00PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY. Contributions in Ralph's memory may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
