Obituary of Paul J. Oleksak

Paul J. Oleksak, Jr., formerly of Guy Park Avenue, passed away Tuesday in Erie Pa., at the Hamot Medical Center. Born in Amsterdam on December 9, 1943, the son of the late Paul and Theresa Oleksak Sr. He was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and continued his education at Fulton Montgomery Community College. Paul worked for many years as a quality assurance technician for Hasbro Toys. He loved bowling and was inducted into the Amsterdam Bowler?s Hall Of Fame in 1983. Paul bowled numerous 300 games during his career and was a frequent ?Ace Of The Alley? for the Recorder. An avid golfer, Paul was of the Roman Catholic faith. He is survived by four sons; Paul Oleksak of Erie, Pa., David Sharon Oleksak of Fultonville, Mark Mami Oleksak of Honolulu, HI, Mike Brandy Oleksak of Gloversville, and Steven Joy Oleksak of Maine. He also leaves his daughter Paula ?Jo Oleksak of Manhattan and nine grandchildren. His companion of many years, Kathryn Hazelton predeceased him in 2008. A prayer service will take place Monday at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary?s Cemetery, Fort Johnson. A calling period will take place from 10 am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his name to the Montgomery County SPCA or the NY Oncology Hematology Patient Fund both in care of the funeral home office.
