Obituary of Margaret M. Boccio

Margaret M. Boccio, 85, formerly of Division Street, died peacefully Friday, February 5, 2010 at E.L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. She was born in Amsterdam April 14, 1924 a daughter of the late Joseph and Emmanuela Boccio originally of Italy. Margaret was a life resident of the area and was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. She worked for many years as a Glove Examiner for Rose Snell Gloves in Amsterdam. Margaret was a devout Roman Catholic who often attended daily mass. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam and a former parishioner of St. Casimir's Church where she was a member of the Living Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of St. Michael and a member of the Padre Pio Prayer Group. Her loving family includes her two brothers, Louis Boccio and Nicholas Boccio both of Perth. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her twin sister, Marion Swider on May 21, 2007. Prayer Services will be at 8:15AM on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:15AM, Tuesday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam with Fr. Lawrence J. Decker as celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Contributions in Margaret's memory may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam, 246 Manny's Corners Road, Amsterdam, NY or to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, P.O. Box 699, Amsterdam, NY.
