Obituary of Jacqueline Christopher

Jacqueline Christopher, 78, of Broadalbin, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 30 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gloversville on October 19, 1931, the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Knight Cooker. Jackie worked as head librarian clerk for the Broadalbin High School for twenty one years until her retirement in 1988. On May 28, 1950 she married her sweetheart, Eugene Christopher, who survives. Jackie loved reading, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed helping her daughter, Carol, in so many different ways at Carol's Cameo Dance Studio 184. Jackie was always happiest when surrounded by her family. She was a member of the Broadalbin United Methodist Church, she was a past secretary and president of the Broadalbin Mayfield Cemetery and delivered Meals-on-Wheels locally. She will be very sadly missed. In addition to her husband, Eugene Christopher, of Broadalbin, survivors include a son, David Christopher Sharon of Ft. Myers, Fl; a daughter, Carol Mattioni of Gloversville, five grandchildren: Rebecca, Jonathan, Heather, Michael and Sarah; a great grandchild, Taylor; a brother, Harry Cooker Eriann of Seattle and one niece and nephew. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jeffords& Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A funeral will be held there Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Bob Jeffers, a friend of the family, officiating. Interment will take place at Broadalbin- Mayfield Cemetery in the spring.
