Obituary of Louise E. Frantz

Louise E. Frantz, 61, of Chapel Place died peacefully Monday evening, January 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam following a brief illness. She was born in Stamford, CT June 3, 1948 daughter of the late Russell and Martha Russo Frantz. Louise grew up in the Gillette, NJ area and was a graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School. She then went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts from Russell Sage College in 1971 and a Master of Arts from SUNY Albany in 1973. At the start of her career, Louise was a Foreign Language Teacher in the Albany area. She then took a management position with McDonald's which eventually relocated her to the Amsterdam area. From 1977 to 1982, Louise was District Manager for Montgomery Ward. She then worked as Human Resources Manager for the McDonnell-Douglas Corp. and then for Trans World Music in Albany. From 1988 to 2002, she was the Vice-president of Human Resources at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. In more recent years, Louise was the Assoc. Director of Compensation and Benefits at Albany Medical Center and then Director of the same department at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Louise was reaffirmed into faith with Covenant Presbyterian Church in Amsterdam on October 29, 1995. Since then, she has been a very active member of the church serving as Chairperson for the Hospitality Committee, which is responsible for organizing all of the social affairs of the church. Her fellow members were her family, locally, and will miss her dearly. Her loving family includes her brother Kendall Frantz and wife, Doreen of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, her niece Jennifer Frantz-Levine of West Orange, NJ, her nephews Michael Frantz of Atlantic Highlands, NJ and Robert Frantz of Bradenton, FL, her aunt Carmae Patchen of Palm Coast, FL, and her cousins, Dennis and Carol Kilduff of Palm Coast, FL. She leaves behind several other nieces, nephews and cousins in addition to her family at Covenant. Services will be at 10:00AM on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9 Trinity Pl., Amsterdam, with Rev. Timothy H. Gregson, officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Ave., Amsterdam. Following all services, family and friends are invited to gather at the church for continued fellowship and refreshments. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010. Contributions in Louise's memory may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church.
