Obituary of Clara Rizziello

Clara Rizziello, age 89, former resident of Gloversville, passed away Thursday morning at her home, on Chrisler Avenue in Schenectady. She was raised in New Jersey, moved to Gloversville at the age of 15, where she lived until moving to Schenectady 8 ½ years ago. Clara was born January 11, 1921 in Gloversville, NY and was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Muccillo DeCiero. She attended schools in Gloversville. Clara was a specialty glove maker for the Mario Papa Glove Company in Gloversville for over 40 years and later employed by the Rulison Glove Company in Gloversville until retiring in 1998. She was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Gloversville and was a member of the Sons of Italy in Schenectady, and the Catholic War Veterans in Gloversville. Clara was a family person who showed love for everyone and liked the simple life. Clara was an avid Yankees Fan. On May 16, 1946 she married Ralph Rizziello who passed away December 28, 1977. She is survived by a son Richard Rizziello of Georgia; a brother John DeCiero Marie of Schenecrtady; a sister Edith D'Errico of Schenectady and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:00am at The Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 South Main Street, Gloversville, NY. Burial will take place in the spring at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Johnstown, NY. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in Clara's memory to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105, or Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, 2984 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
