Margaret DiCaprio

Obituary of Margaret T. DiCaprio

Margaret T. "Peggy" DiCaprio, 55, of Storrie Street, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Amsterdam on December 11, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Liberato and Antoinette Famularo DiCaprio. Peggy was a 1973 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School and attended Morrisville College. She then began a thirty year career as a nursing assistant with the Montgomery County Infirmary, later Montgomery Meadows, until she retired due to ill health in 2004. A dedicated employee, Peggy truly enjoyed the many patients and families that she encountered through the years. She enjoyed travel and vacations especially to Lake George. An animal lover, she and her niece enjoyed volunteering at the local SPCA. She was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. Her loving family includes her sisters; Lee Anne DiCaprio of Amsterdam and Michele and her husband Robert Hansen of Rotterdam; her dear niece, Angela DiCaprio of Amsterdam; uncles; Salvatore Famularo and Dominic and his wife Nancy Famularo all of Glenville; aunt; Mary Santabianchi of Fonda as well as cousins and dear friends. Services are Wednesday at 8:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Because Peggy loved animals, her family suggests that contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home office.
