Obituary of Kenneth W. Danforth

Kenneth W. Danforth, 79, of Gloversville, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 15, 1930 in Hudson Falls, NY the son of the late Frances Burdick and Clayton Danforth. Kenneth was employed as a taxicab driver for ABC Taxi for twenty seven years. Mr. Danforth was vice president for the Fulton County Emergency Radio Club for thirty three years. During that time, he worked together with the American Red Cross on their fifty mile Heart Walks. Kenneth loved to play cards and collected old model cars and coins. He will be very sadly missed. On April 1, 1978, he married Esther Baker. She predeceased him on October 21, 2005. Together they enjoyed twenty seven wonderful years together. Mr. Danforth is survived by a sister, Toni Parker of Phoenix, AZ; three sons: George Danforth of Gloversville, Kenneth John Danforth of Scotia and Kenneth James Danforth Karen of Gloversville; four daughters: Laura Wooster of Gloversville, Joyce Morgan Stan of Mayfield, Clara Carey of Gloversville and Thelma Matthews Charles, Jr. of West Leyden, NY; four step-children: Thomas Quillan Florence of Gloversville, William Quillan Sherri of Fort Plain, John Quillan Lisa of Pennsylvania and Susan Quillan of Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his beloved wife, Kenneth is predeceased by two brothers: Clifford Danforth and Frank Danforth and one sister, Florence Parker. Family and friends are invited and may call Sunday, November 8 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a funeral will follow at 3 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Cremation will be at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenneth's memory to the Salvation Army, 10 Spring Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
