Obituary of Harriette V. Stack

Mrs. Harriette V. Stack, age 76, of Gloversville, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 8, 1933 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Howard and Grace Ellis Veeder. She was a 1942 graduate of Fonda High School and later worked at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility for over twenty years. She retired as a housekeeper in 1995. Harriette enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting. She was married on June 19, 1971 to Richard A. Stack who died May 5, 2009. She is survived by three children, Burton Ramon Starin Lorraine of Canajoharie, Barbara Frederick Michael of Gloversville and Jane Paris Charles of Gloversville; two stepsons, Richard Stack Carol of Johnstown and Jon Stack Carol of Broadalbin; four brothers, George Veeder Betty of Cazenovia, Jon Veeder Barbara of Ava, NY, Bruce Veeder and Brian Veeder of Gloversville; two sisters, Ruth Yates of Gloversville and Rebecca Carr of Logansport, IN; four grandchildren, Petrina Frederick, C. J. Paris, Rose Starin and Toby Starin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Joseph Veeder. The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, November 6 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. L. David Almleaf officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
