Obituary of Frank J. Robinson

Frank J. Robinson, 97 of Palatine Bridge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 3 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born September 28, 1912 in Benson, NY the son of the late Leonard and Catherine Johnson Robinson. Frank was employed as a glove maker in the Gloversville area. He also worked as a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and owned the Elms Restaurant in Meco with his brother, Charles. Frank loved hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. On October 10, 1936 he married his sweetheart, Marion Ernst. They enjoyed sixty three years of marriage until Marion's passing in November of 1999. He is survived by a son, Russell Robinson Lynne of Palatine Bridge; four grandchildren: James, John, Michele and Patrick; six great grandchildren; a daughter in law, Caroline Robinson of Mayfield; two sisters in law: Dorothy Cosselman of Bleecker and Ruth Ecker of Johnstown and nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, Frank was predeceased by a son, Ronald Robinson and a brother, Charles Robinson. Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, November 6 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 7 at 9 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. Interment will be at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd. Loudonville, NY 12211 or to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205.
