Obituary of Laura Rogowski

Mrs.Laura Rogoski, 94, of Union St., Amsterdam, NY passed away Wednesday October 28, 2009 at home. Born in Waszos, Poland on September 23, 1915 a daughter of Alex and Stella Duda Popowski. She attended school in Poland and came to this area in 1947. She was employed for over 24 years at the former Barlow Manufacturing Co. in Amsterdam as a sewing machine operator. She was a communicant of St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman, NY and was a former member of the Altar Rosary Society. She married Edward Rogoski on September 20th, 1935. He passed away on August 7, 2002. Laura is survived by her son Joseph Rogoski Agnes of Amsterdam, One brother, Alex Popowski of Poland. Two sisters, Jadwiga Grubowski of Brooklyn, NY and Katherine Koworowska, Chicago, IL. Two grandchildren, Joseph M. Rogoski Anna, Theresa Moore Robert. Five Step-grandsons, Paul Oleksak, David Oleksak Sharon, Mark Oleksak Mamie, Michael Oleksak Brandy and Steven Oleksak Joi. Four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a brother Hank Popowski and two sisters Irene Matyscwich and Nadza Czaplicki. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00A.M. at St. Stephen?s Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman NY with Father Shanley as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Stephen?s Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to Mass on Saturday October 31, 2009 from 9:30 to 10:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
