Obituary of Terry L. Brindle

Terry L. Brindle, 53, of Gloversville died peacefully at her home, Wednesday, September 30, 2009. She was born in Amsterdam on December 20, 1955, the daughter of Linus and the late Rowena Abel Vosburgh. Terry graduated from Johnstown High School in 1974. She was a member of North Main Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville, where she taught Sunday school. Terry was also a volunteer with the American Cancer Society and was very active with its Relay for Life. She also was a speaker at Making Strides for Breast Cancer and Zonta's Breast Cancer Awareness Program. Terry attended the University of Maine at Bangor to achieve her Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. She started her career as a Dental Hygienist in Gloversville with Dr. Ronald Bergoff and Dr. Raymond Cichy and has worked with Dr. Matthew Kearney for the past twenty years. Terry's family and friends were the focal point of her life. On May 22, 1977, she married her husband, William Brindle. He survives. Also surviving are her two children, Ryan Brindle and Nicole Valovic Michael, all of Gloversville; her father, Linus Vosburgh of Johnstown; three sisters, Jacqueline Recesso Arthur of Athens, GA, Barbara "Bobbi" Coupas Nick of Amsterdam and Sandy "Dooner" Vosburgh Peter Goderie of Johnstown; her granddaughter, Leah Marie Valovic of Gloversville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a memorial visitation for Terry on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the North Main Street United Methodist Church, 316 N. Main Street, Gloversville. A memorial service will follow at 12 noon with Rev. Christopher Hamm, Pastor, officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
