Obituary of Debra Risley Schall

Debra Risley Schall, 57, died at home in Gloversville, NY, on September 27, following a lengthy battle with colon cancer. Her husband William "Willy" G. Schall and cousin and caretaker Melanie Boyd of Arlington, TX, were at her side. Born in Hutchinson, Kansas, Debra was a graduate of Wichita High School North and Salt City Business College Hutchinson. She served as a clerk at The Law Company Wichita and later at Risley's IGA South Hutchinson while assisting with cattle operations at the Risley Circle R Ranch near Inman. Debra moved to Ava, Missouri to assist full-time with cattle operations in 1990. In 2002, she married Willy Schall, her high school sweetheart. They relocated to Gloversville, NY in 2007. Debra was preceded in death by her father Ralph E. Risley and mother Patricia A. Gaulding. She is survived by her husband of Gloversville; step children: Sara Schall Sigley of Hillsboro, KS and Will and John of Wichita, KS and brother Rod A. Risley of Flora, MS. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 2nd at 11:00 am at Thornfield Cemetery Chapel, Thornfield, MO with a visitation preceding at 10:00 am, interment will follow. Memorial services will be held Saturday, October 3rd 11:00 am at Central Community Church, Wichita, KS. Memorial service will be October 17th at Mayfield Central Presbyterian Church, Mayfield, NY 1:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078. Debra's last request was for everyone who hasn't had a colonoscopy: Do it.
