Obituary of Theodore D. Older

Theodore D. Older, 70, of Tribes Hill, passed away on Thursday September 17, 2009, at Albany Medical Center. Ted was born on December 3, 1938 in Queens, NY the son of the late Theodore and Mary Ryan Older. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1956-1959. Ted work for several companies over the years. He first worked for Ithica Gun Company as a salesman before moving on to work for JC Penny. Ted then went on to work for McDonald's at their corporate office. And lastly Ted worked for Tru Green Chem Lawn in Albany as a salesman. One of Ted's hobbies was to volunteer as a driver for the Veterans Administration in Fulton County. He was very proud to help out, and did so for several years. Ted is survived by his wife Frances Clute Older whom he married on April 16, 1994. They shared 15 years united in marriage. Additional survivors include his five children: Catherine Terry Phil of Broadalbin, Sue Frasier Jeff of Perth, Laura Hanna Don of Latham, Christina Hayes Wayne of Glens Falls and Ted M. Older Stephanie of Renfrew, PA; Four Step-Children: Christine Handy Kevin of Tribes Hill, Roxanne Vecchio Jim of Tribes Hill, Kevin Clute Pamela of Johnstown, and Greg Clute of Concord, NC. Additional survivors include one brother John Older Renee of Springfield, PA, 29 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville, with the Rev. Thomas Morrette officiating. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ted to Community Hospice of Amsterdam; 246 Manny's Corner Road; Amsterdam, NY 12010.
