Obituary of Nave D. Hage

Nave D. Hage, 87, of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away Sunday September 13, 2009 at his home. Nave was born on July 10, 1922 in Amsterdam, NY the son of the late Samuel Ferris and Freida Khalil Hage. He married Genevieve Skiff on May 22, 1955. She predeceased him in 2008. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam. Nave served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed at the U.S. Naval Depot in Scotia, NY for many years. He moved to Philadelphia, PA with his wife when the U.S. Naval Depot moved its operations there. Nave enjoyed polka dancing and following the polka bands around to different shows. He is survived by two brothers: Louis Hage Carmen of Rockville, MD and Joseph Hage Shirley of Pensacola, Fl.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. There will be a graveside service on Saturday September 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville, with the Very Rev. Donald Czelusniak officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville.
