Obituary of Margaret A. Billington

Margaret A. Billington, 84, of Florida Avenue passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday evening. Born on March 27, 1925 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of Otto H. and Ester M. Pankinon Lasky. She attended Amsterdam schools. Margaret was employed by various factories in the city of Amsterdam before going to work at Liberty Enterprises in food processing for over 25 years until her retirement in 2006. Margaret is survived by her two loving daughters, Christine Robert Sandy of Amsterdam, and Pamela Jerry Baneth also of Amsterdam. She is also survived by her brothers Rudolph Lasky and Richard Mary Lasky both of Amsterdam; a sister Ruth Vincent Rossi of Amsterdam; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret is predeceased by her brothers Albert, Frederick, Raymond and Arthur; sisters Bertha, Clara, and Elma; and her two grandchildren Robert J. Sandy Jr. and Danielle Marie Sandy. Margaret was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed cooking and attending garage sales, she liked to collect various table cloths. She also loved to decorate for Christmas. She was known to be a feisty lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at 11 O?clock at Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Fr. Pascal Iannotti officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00 until 11. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.
