Obituary of Carmin Ault

Mr. Carmin Ault, Sr., 92, of Gloversville, passed away on Monday at Nathan Littauer Nursing Home. Born September 28, 1916 in Fonda, he was the son of the late Rosario T. and Madeline Damiano Ault, Sr. Educated in Fonda schools, Mr. Ault had worked for the Railroad early in his life as well as construction. A Navy veteran of WWII, he served in the South Pacific with the Seabees where he participated in various construction details, including bridges. Upon returning to the states, he was employed at the Naval Depot in Napa, CA. Carmin was employed much of his life as a glove cutter and also as a staker. He retired from Cayadutta Tanning in 1977 due to ill health. Mr. Ault enjoyed several activities including bowling, fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the VFW Post 2077, the Amsterdam American Legion, and a former member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges. He was also a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville. Survivors include his children: Carmin Ault Jr. Debra of Gloversville, Rosemarie Rossbach Charles of Gloversville and Madeline Kalinich John of Whitehouse Station, NJ. Also surviving is a brother, Rosario T. Frank Ault, Jr. of Fonda, nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ault was pre-deceased in 1989 by his wife Susan Roman Ault, whom he married April 20, 1941. He is also pre-deceased by brothers: Andrew, Samuel, Anthony and Joseph Ault and sisters; Julie Viauso, Florence Cervo Campbell, Marguerite Marotta and Mary Bellows. A prayer service will be held 9:15 am Thursday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. At 10 am a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Gloversville, with Reverend Donald Czelusniak, Pastor, as celebrant. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 pm. Burial with military honors will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church Building Fund, 149 S. Main Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
