Obituary of Donald E. Parker

Donald E. Parker, 91, of County Highway 107, Town of Perth, NY, peacefully went home to heaven Tuesday July 14th, 2009 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Northville, NY on July 21, 1917 a son of Claude and Verna Warner Parker. He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1937 graduate of Northville Central School. Mr. Parker was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving as a Military Policeman in General George Patton's 3rd Army. He was a personal bodyguard to Judge General Francis X. Biddle during the Nuremberg Trial which was also part of the Military Criminal Investigative Committee and the F.B.I. Mr. Parker was first employed by G.E. in Schenectady, NY. He later was employed by the former Perth Central School System as a Head Custodian and a Bus Driver where he was employed for over 30 years retiring from there. He was a member of the Perth Bible Church and was a former member of the Broadalbin Kenyetto Volunteer Fire Department where he served as secretary for 8 years. He married Patricia Ann Decker Parker on July 3rd 1976. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by two sons, William Parker of California and Saen Parker of Gloversville, NY. One daughter, Donna Lou Dixon of Perth, NY. His step-children, Rev. Kim Rossi and her husband Owen Gould of Attica, NY. Christopher Rossi of Queens, NY and Theresa Rajter of Amsterdam, NY. One brother, Doug Parker and his wife Marion of Northville, NY. Eight grandchildren, Colleen Dunn, Kimberly Bovee, Jeffrey Dixon, Brian Dixon, Christen Rajter, Steven Rajter, Theodore Rajter and Donald Rajter. Eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday July 17th, 2009 at 1:00P.M. at the Perth Bible Church, 1863 County Highway 107, Perth, NY with Pastor Todd Leopold presiding. Interment will be in Perth Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday July 16th, 2009 from 3:00 to 7:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Perth Bible Church or to Mountain Valley Hospice.
