Obituary of June T. Male

June T. Male 82, of the Hillcrest Spring Adult Home, passed away Sunday afternoon at St. Mary?s Hospital with loving family at her side. Born in Block Island, R.I. on July 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Hilda Allen Conley. Educated there, she moved to this area after her marriage in 1946. She met her beloved husband John when he was stationed in Rhode Island during World War II. She worked in Mohasco for a time and later for thirty five years at Amsterdam Printing before she retired in 1991. During that time, she was able to raise her large family, work, and find the time for her hobby, ceramics. June was the matriarch of her family and will always be remembered for her wonderful baking, especially her chocolate chips. Her husband, John H. Male, Jr., to whom she was married to on May 30, 1946, predeceased her on November 4, 2001. She also lost a son, Timothy M. Male and her siblings; Richard and William Conley, Hilda Leeming and Charlotte Parish. Her loving family includes her children; June M. Tom Siegenthaler of Gambrills, Md., Donna L. McNamara Dan and Kathy P. Jim McMartin all of Amsterdam, Tammy L. Dwyer J.R. of Gloversville, Jack H. Marcelle Male of Alpharetta Ga., Rick T. Alison Male of Saunderstown, R.I. and Ron Kelley Male of Amsterdam; brothers; Lawrence Conley of West Richland, Wash., Edward Conley of Johnstown, Robert Conley of Wakefield, R.I., David Conley of Narragansett, R.I., and Skelly Conley of Lady Lake, Fla., sisters; Betty Lincoln of Block Island, R.I. and Ruth Busby of Norwich, Conn., eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services are set for Thursday at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Fr. John Medwid will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Tribes Hill. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Parkinson?s Foundation in care of the funeral home office.
