Obituary of Marjorie Foy Edwards

Marjorie Foy Edwards, 96, formerly of Wall Street, passed away Friday morning, June 26, 2009 at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. Born in Hudson Falls, NY on November 16, 1912, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Beulah Wilson Foy. She attended schools in Glens Falls, NY and was a 1931 graduate. Marjorie moved to the Amsterdam area in 1961, where she was employed as a legal secretary for Judge John J. Mycek in Amsterdam for many years. She was united in marriage to Emrys C. Edwards on September 23, 1939, this union lasted a beautiful fifty two years until his passing in April of 1991. Marjorie was a life member and past president of the VFW Post 55 Auxiliary as well as a member of the American Legion Post 701 Auxiliary, and the Amsterdam Lionettes Club. She was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church; the Amsterdam Legal Secretaries Club and the Society for the Detection of Horse Thieves; she was an avid reader and just loved her NY Yankees. Her loving Family includes her daughter Sue E. Fox and husband John of Suwanee, GA.; her grandchildren John Edwards Fox of Amsterdam and Laura Fox-Davies and husband David of Quakertown, PA; four great-grand children, Citara and Vincent Davies; Andrea and Luz Fox. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Her brothers Wilson Foy and Robert Foy as well as her sister Mildred Davis predeceased her. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday July 11, 2009 at 11 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to call one hour prior at the funeral home.
