Obituary of Marjorie L. Vanderwerken

Marjorie Louise Vanderwerken, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2009 at the Fulton County Residential Healthcare Facility. She was born in Stamford, Connecticut the daughter of the late Gilbert H. and Catherine Burke Vanderwerken. Marjorie was a resident of Darien, Connecticut until her retirement from Ring's End Lumber where she worked in accounting for over 30 years. Marjorie was an avid reader and knitter. Marjorie is survived by two sisters, Jane Thomas Sr. deceased Monti of Deland, Florida and Barbara Miller Robert of Bleecker, New York; and one brother David Mary Vanderwerken Sr. of Shaftsbury, Vermont. Nieces and nephews David Renee Vanderwerken of Shaftsbury, VT; Sherry Vanderwerken of Stamford, CT; Gilbert Vanderwerken III of Stamford, CT; Todd Vanderwerken of San Bruno, CA; John Antoinette Miller of Hudson Falls, NY; Robin Robert Miller-Goodrich of Broadalbin, NY; Sandra Miller of Monson, Massachusetts; Eric Miller of Oak Harbor, WA; and James Cheryl Monti of Phoenix, AZ. Great nieces and nephews Meggie and Erika Vanderwerken of Shaftsbury, VT; Christopher, Nicholas and Anthony Miller of Hudson Falls, NY; Audrey, Lauren and Benjamin Miller of Oak Harbor, WA; James, William and Daniel Monti of Los Angeles, CA; and Lindsey Fyfe of Orlando, FL. Marjorie was predeceased by her brother Gilbert Vanderwerken of Stamford, CT; niece Catherine Monti Fyfe of Deland, FL and Thomas Monti of Killington, VT. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday June 5, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:00 at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home; 85 West Main Street; Broadalbin, New York. A funeral service will immediately follow the conclusion of calling hours at 10:00, with the Rev. Thomas J. Morrette officiating. Interment will follow in the Town of Bleecker Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New York; 85 Watervliet Ave; Albany, NY 12206-2083.
