Obituary of Dorothy L. Streun

Dorothy L. Streun 72, of the Roosevelt Apartments, Wall Street, passed away Saturday morning at her home, peacefully with family at her side. Born in Amsterdam on July 23, 1936 , she was the daughter of the late Charles and Effie Campfield Streeter. She lived here her entire life and was educated locally. Dorothy worked for several local manufacturing firms early in her life, but mostly was a home maker. She will be remembered as an excellent cook who loved spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Luke?s Evangelical Lutheran Church. On June 20, 1959 she was united in marriage to Ronald E. Streun. He predeceased her on August 25, 2005. Her loving family includes her children; Richard C. Heidi Streun of Amsterdam, Deborah A. Bombard of Broadalbin, Alison Alex Rajter of Perth and Jeffrey R. Sandra Streun of Hagaman; grandchildren; Erica, Marissa, Megan and Jeffrey Streun, and Kyle Rufer; a sister in law; Olive Streeter; niece and nephew Dan and Donna Streeter and a dear cousin Patricia Machold. Dorothy was also predeceased by her two brothers; Richard and Edward Streeter. A service will take place on Tuesday at 12 noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. The Rev. Jane Huptschmidt will officiate. Interment will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Dorothy?s memory to Community Hospice Of Amsterdam or to the Emergency Relief Fund of the Northeast Chapter, American Red Cross both in care of the funeral home office.
