Obituary of Chester Brach

Chester "Chet" Brach, 87, of Tremont Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Sunday morning May 3rd, 2009 at the River Ridge Living Center LLC. in Amsterdam, NY. Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 10th, 1921 a son of Michael and Mary Burek Brach. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1939 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Mr. Brach was a Army Air Corps Veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific Theatre with the 7th Air Force. He was a communicant of the former St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Chester worked for a few years with Mohawk Carpet Mills then as a Custodian with the Greater Amsterdam School District retiring in 1983. He married the former Patricia McKenna in November of 1953. She passed away in February of 2004. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stephen, Eugene and Myron Brach. Survivor's include his nieces, Eileen DaBiere of Amsterdam, Lorraine Brach Bull of Ballston Lake, Janice Brach of Hagaman, Regina Boerenko of Orlando, Florida and Patti Brown of Amsterdam. One nephew, James Brach of Colorado. Great nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday May 7th, 2009 at 11:00A.M. at St. Stanislaus Church, Cornell St., Amsterdam with Father David Mickiewicz as celebrant. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
