Obituary of Pasqualina Cataffo

Pasqualina "Pat" Cataffo, 93, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at the River Ridge Living Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Galway on Feb.10, 1916, she was the daughter of Antimo and Elvira Salvione Spagnola , she lived in Amsterdam most of her life. Pat worked for Fownes Brothers Glove Company in the shipping department until she retired. She was a communicant of St.Michael and Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel parish. Pat will always be remembered as an excellent home maker and was most happiest when she was with her loving family, especially her sisters. On April 13, 1945, she was united in marriage to Anthony L. Cataffo Sr. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves her dear son Anthony L. Cataffo Jr. and his wife Betty of Scottsdale, Az., her sisters; Philomena "Lena" Heslan, Olga Cisaretti and Jean John Sheckton all of Amsterdam as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers; Louis, Reynolds and Angelo Spagnola, and sisters ; Elizabeth Gaetano and Evelyn Zumbolo . Services are Friday at 10:30 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 11:15 am at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Church. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery. A calling period will begin at 9:00 am Friday until the time of the service. Contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or the Mt. Carmel Memorial Fund both in care of the funeral home office.
