Obituary of Ruth Katherine Martuscello

Ruth K. Betz Martuscello 85, of Florida Avenue, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the River Ridge Living Center peacefully with her loving family at her side. Born June 18, 1923 in Amsterdam, New York, she was the daughter of the late John George and Eva C. Koch Betz, Sr. She attended local schools. Ruth was a homemaker and a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She loved animals and enjoyed her Boston Terriers over the years. On October 27, 1946 she married Raymond S. Martuscello who passed away September 27, 2005. Ruth was predeceased by her son-in-law Daniel Martone who passed away November 27, 2007 and her brother John G. Betz Jr. who passed away in 1996. Survivors include her loving family, a son Stephen M. Martuscello of Latham, NY; a daughter Diane R. Martone of Amsterdam, NY; sister-in-law, Marion B. Betz of Fort Johnson, NY, 2 grandchildren Mia Huntington and Paul Swedick, 4 great grandchildren, Kolby, Schuyler, Payton and Logan, 3 nephews, Richard Betz Marilyn of Fort Johnson, NY, David Betz Bonnie of Sarasota, Florida and Jack Betz Debra of Fultonville; good friend Marie Martone and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Lawrence Decker officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Amsterdam. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.
