Obituary of Barney Sisario

Barney Sisario Jr., 65, of Locust Lane, Gloversville, NY formerly of Amsterdam, NY, passed away Monday April 13th, 2009 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY following a brief illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on June 2nd, 1943 a son of Barney and Mary Sinatra Sisario Sr. He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended local schools. Mr. Sisario was a 1961 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. Mr. Sisario worked for over 20 years at the former Mohasco Corp. in Amsterdam before retiring from there. He was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. He married Marie B. Bruce Sisario on September 12, 1987. In addition to his loving wife survivors include one brother, Joseph M. Sisario and his wife Jeanette of Amsterdam, NY. One sister, Josephine Lampkin and her husband Francis of Amsterdam, NY. Mother-in-Law, Marie Bruce of Johnstown, NY. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Vincent Sisario and a sister, Marie Sisario. Barney was fond of his pet cats Miss Kitty and Rocky. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday April 16th, 2009 at 10:15 A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam with Rev. Lawrence J. Decker as celebrant. Interment will take place in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday April 15th, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.
