Obituary of Beatrice Allen Russell

Mrs. Beatrice Allen Russell, age 93 of Gloversville, died Monday morning, March 30, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on July 5, 1915 in Osborne's Bridge town of Northampton, the daughter of the late Dallas and Ida May Wilson Paul. Beatrice made and sold bread during the great depression and later lived in the Broadalbin, Northville and Wells areas. She and her first husband, Raymond Allen, owned and operated the former Northville Dry Cleaners many years ago. She later worked for her second husband, Harry Russell, at his automobile garage in Wells. She came to Gloversville from Wells about thirty years ago. Beatrice is survived by many nieces and nephews including Beatrice A. Savage Fran of Gloversville and Betty L. Seelow Glen of Kleen, Texas. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, and by her brother and sisters, Franklin Paul, Mary Jane Smith, Blanche "Rose" Duffek and Irene Pangburn; also by her nieces, Theresa Josephine Duffek Cioffi and Verna Jean Duffek Flint. The family will receive relatives and friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Friday, April 3rd at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at King Cemetery, Northampton.
