Obituary of Ruth E. Vosburgh

Ruth E. Vosburgh, 93, of Vail Mills passed away on Saturday March 28, 2009 at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam. Ruth was born in Gloversville on May 28, 1915 the daughter of the late Harry and Nina Kissinger Frank. Ruth was a life long resident of the area and was educated in the former Broadalbin School District, where she graduated in 1932. Mrs. Vosburgh was of the Methodist faith and a life long member of the Broadalbin Methodist Church. Ruth was also a member of the women's group at her church. Ruth loved to cook, and enjoyed traveling. She liked to sit on her porch and watch the traffic pass on by. Ruth also loved her neighbors. Survivors include a brother Robert Frank Alice; eight nieces and nephews: Lois Ann Bower Phil, Linda Bianco Dr. Charles, Gale Huber Raymond, Donald Frank Ann, Paula Phillips Robert, Richard Frank Anne, Mark Vosburgh Joann, and Melanie Anthony Thomas. Additional survivors include a cousin Joyce Brownell who was more like a sister to Ruth and a brother in law Donald Vosburgh. Several great nieces and great nephews as well as great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ed Vosburgh, and a brother Lewis Frank. Friends and relatives were invited to call on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Broadalbin, 67 North Main Street, Broadalbin, with Pastor Bill Delia officiating. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 11am at Broadalbin-Mayfield Cemetery with Pastor Bill Delia officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ruth's memory to the United Methodist Church of Broadalbin, P.O. Box 85, Broadalbin, NY 12025.
