Obituary of Wilbur L. McDonald

Wilbur L. McDonald Jr. 67, of Guy Park Avenue, passed away Friday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital. Born August 1, 1941 in Whitehall, New York and he was the son of the late Wilbur and Arietta Ellsworth McDonald Sr.. He attended schools in Troy, New York. Wilbur served in the U.S.Army. He was employed for over ten years for Riteway Home Improvement Company in Amsterdam as a siding specialist. Wilbur loved hunting, fishing and was a true outdoorsman. He would travel throughout the New England States to hunt and fish. Survivors include a son, Timothy McDonald of Gloversville; two daughters, Kathy Haight of Galway, NY and Brenda Frye and her husband Mike of Johnstown, NY; three brothers, Leslie McDonald of St. Regis Falls, NY, Eugene McDonald of St. Johnsville, New York and Robert Hoag of Ft. Edward, NY; two sisters, Mary Blackmer of Florida and June Blackmer of Queensbury, NY; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grasndchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery. A calling period will take place on Wednesday from 10:30 AM to 11:00AM.
