Obituary of Earl Charles Jacobson

Earl Charles Jacobson, Sr., 85, of Gloversville, passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. Earl was born on June 19, 1923 in Gloversville the son of the late Henry Jacobson and Mable Cossellman Jacobson. Mr. Jacobson served in the United States Army during WWII. After his discharge from the Army, Earl returned to Gloversville and worked for Independent Leather for several years. Earl loved to go fishing and enjoyed listening to and playing music; but most of all Earl loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Survivors include his wife, Antoinette Pantalone Jacobson, of Gloversville and two sons, Sheldon Jacobson of Rotterdam and Earl Charles Jacobson, Jr. of Gloversville. Additional survivors include six grandchildren; Erica, Amanda, Kristie, Sheldon, Jr., Melanie and Christopher and three great grandchildren; Savannah, Brandon, and Eric. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill Jacobson and Morris Jacobson. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10am to 12pm Noon on Wednesday, March 11th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 12 Noon with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Fern Dale Cemetery, Johnstown.
