Obituary of James A. Dallesandro

Amsterdam James A. Dallesandro, 66, of County Hwy 107, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Mountain Valley Hospice House in Gloversville. He was born in Amsterdam November 4, 1942 a son of the late James J. and Ann Marotta Dallesandro. Jim was a life resident of the area and was of Roman Catholic faith. He and his wife Barbara were long time parishioners of St. John's Roman Catholic Church and were very active in the parish. He was also a former member of the Moose Lodge in Johnstown. Jim worked for several years as a Licensed Electrician for Flex Electric in Albany. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Frank Sinatra, boating, and traveling, especially his trips to Maine with his beloved wife Barbara who predeceased him in November of 2002. He will be sadly missed by all of his family members and many friends. His loving family includes his daughter, Kristen Gino Marotta of Broadalbin, his sons, Anthony Dallesandro Lindsay Esmond of Schenectady, and Glenn Shelly Marek of the Town of Florida, his grandchildren, Bryanna and Victoria Marotta of Broadalbin, and Justin, Noah, Tucker and Owen Marek all of the Town of Florida, and his sisters, Diane Tom McNamara of Perth, Jeanne Thom Servidone of Rotterdam and MaryJo Angelo Verderese of Amsterdam. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. At Jim's request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15AM on Monday Today, February 23, 2009 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John Street, Amsterdam with Fr. Brian List as celebrant. Contributions in Jim's memory may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078, the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211, or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY.
