Obituary of Tonya M. Hynd

Tonya M. Hynd, 34, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Nathan Littauer Hospital surrounded by friends and family. She was born June 20, 1974 in Gloversville the daughter of Carl Vallieu and Marleine Miller. Tonya worked for the Key Mark Corporation in Fonda as a packer. She also had a motor route for the Leader Herald and was a volunteer for the Berkshire Fire Department in Gloversville. Tonya loved the outdoors, hiking and bowling. She looked forward to being with her family every year at an annual pow wow in Glens Falls on the Fourth of July weekend holiday. She loved being with her family and visiting friends. She was always taking care of others- even when her own health started to deteriorate, she was always right there if anybody needed a hand. She placed everyone else's needs above her own. Tonya will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She married her husband, David Hynd, who survives, on August 25, 2001. In addition to her husband, survivors include two daughters: Amanda Lynn Chetwynd and Cassandra Jean Vallieu; a son, James Clark Hynd, III; her mother, Marleine Miller; father Carl Vallieu; three brothers: Frank Butler Brenda of Randall, William James Butler of Gloversville and Michael Vallieu of Gloversville; two step sisters: Nancy Walters of Mayfield and Betty Vallieu of Mayfield; a step mother, Diane Vallieu of Mayfield; a step father, Kenneth Swarts of Gloversville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, on Friday, February 20 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend William Brower presiding. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tonya's memory to The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Avenue, Bethpage, NY 11714
