Obituary of Virginia M. Lorenzi

Virginia M. Lorenzi, 95, of Gloversville passed away Saturday January 10, 2009 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Gloversville, NY. Virginia was born on April 10, 1913 the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Lawton. Virginia was a graduate of the Canajoharie School District. Mrs. Lorenzi worked locally for Washburns dairy as well as Grandoe Glove Company. Virginia is survived by her two sons David Smalley and his companion Sarah Johnston of Fultonville, and Retired Air Force Major John H Smalley and his wife Jan of BonAire, GA. Additional survivors include her brother Elwood Lawton Delores of North Broadalbin, and her sister Hilda Baker of Florida; five grandchildren: Nancy Chura of Fort Wayne, IA, Douglass Smalley of Clifton Park, Laura Smalley of Warrensburg, Suzanne Smalley of Knoxville, TN, and Steven Smalley of BonAire, GA Virginia is also survived by three great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband John Smalley in 1967 and also her second husband John Lorenzi. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Hamilton and Kenneth Lawton, and one sister Doris O'Neil. There will be no services. Interment will take place in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville.
