Obituary of Kathleen H. Hogan

Kathleen H. "Kathy" Hogan, 53, of State Hwy 163, Fort Plain passed away peacefully Saturday, December 27, 2008 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Herkimer August 21, 1955 a daughter of Doris VanAlstine Prime and the late Keith Prime. Kathy was a life resident of the area and was of Methodist faith. She married Joseph A. Hogan on June 7, 1975 at the Saltspringville United Methodist Church. Kathy loved elephants and collected all kinds for many years. She also enjoyed camping and taking trips to the casino. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her father, Kathy was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Jim Hogan. Her loving family includes her mother, Doris Prime of Saltspringville, her husband of over 33 years, Jospeh A. Hogan, Sr. of Ft. Plain, her son, Joseph A. Beth Hogan, Jr. of Ft. Plain, her daughters, Tanya Chris Lanier of Ft. Plain and Joleen Hogan of Schenectady, her grandchildren, Trinity Lanier, Josilin Lanier, Cassidy Hogan Haley Hogan, Ricky Vogel and Kyle Rodeo, her sister, Christine Donald Chase of Ft. Plain, her brothers, Dennis Linda Prime of Ft. Plain, Kevin Debbie Prime of Virginia, Kent Patty Prime of Saltspringville and David Bonnie Prime, her special aunt, Audrey Prime of Saltspringville her sisters-in-law, Joanne Gary Hogan of St. Johnsville, Cathy Hogan of Ft. Plain, Joyce Humphrey of Little Falls and Mary Hogan of Litte Falls, her very special friends, Glenda and Harold Potter of Ft. Plain and Louise Gray of St. Johnsville, and her loving dog, Joey. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be at 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie with Rev. Kenneth Dingman, officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to services, Tuesday from 11:00AM to 1:00PM. Interment will take place at a later date in Freysbush Cemetery, Fort Plain. Immediately following services on Tuesday, Kathy's family wishes for everyone to join them at the South Minden Vol. Fire Dept. for continued fellowship. The family wishes to extend their deepest and sincere thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice for all of Kathy's special care during her illness.
