Obituary of Elizabeth D. Crowley

Elizabeth D. "Betty" Crowley, 71, of Sonat Road, Clifton Park, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at Albany Medical Center with her loved ones at her side. Born in Albany on September 3, 1937, she was a lifelong area resident. She was first employed by Montgomery Ward in Menands and later began a long career with the State Of New York, retiring in 2000 from the Department Of Transportation in Albany. Betty and her beloved partner of twenty two years, Evie, shared their home with their many dear friends throughout the years. Betty herself did much of the work to create a beautiful place where everyone would gather. Together, they also shared a home in Boynton Beach Florida, where they enjoyed each winter. Betty was always there ready to assist her friends in any project they needed help with. She was a parishioner of St. Edward The Confessor Roman Catholic Church in Clifton Park and at one time was an avid bowler. She leaves her beloved partner, Evelyn C. Wright of Clifton Park; brothers; John Crowley of Coeymans, James and Michael Crowley of Colonie and Daniel Crowley of Albany; sisters; Margaret Bruno of Halfmoon, Catherine LaRose of Malta and Carol Asprion of Colonie; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins and many, many dear friends. Services are Friday morning at 8:00 am at the Catricala Funeral Home, 1597 Rt. 9, Clifton Park, followed by the Mass Of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St. Edward The Confessor Church, Clifton Park Center Rd. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 pm at the Catricala Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Betty's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place , Memphis, Tenn. 38105. Betty's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam.
