Obituary of Sybil B. Rutana

Sybil B. Rutana, 93, of the Sanford Home For Women, passed away peacefully at the home following a long illness. Born in Amsterdam on March 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Wszolek Rutana. A lifelong resident, she was employed by the Chalmer's Manufacturing Company in her earlier years, and later, for thirty four years, by the General Electric Company until she retired in 1977. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus' Roman Catholic Church. She leaves her family; her devoted son Ronald and his wife Ruth DelVecchio of Downington, Pa.; Grandsons; Paul Robyn DelVecchio, Mark Mollie DelVecchio, and Michael Sally DelVecchio; great grandchildren; Marisa, John, Matthew, Hannah, Andrew and Mary DelVecchio; her sisters; Edna M. Rutana of Amsterdam and Bertha Hankins of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Sybil was predeceased by her brothers; Joseph and John Rutana and sisters Helen Guerriero and Eleanor Easton. Services are Saturday at 8:45 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, followed by the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 9:30 am at St. Stanislaus Church by Fr. David Mickiewicz. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in her name to the Sanford Home, 69 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam to whom her family is most grateful for her care these past four years.
