Obituary of Esmerelda Fear

Mrs. Esmerelda "Essie" Fear, 94, formerly of Gloversville, died Saturday at Wells Nursing Home, where she had been a patient since 2006. Born March 9, 1914 in Gloversville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary DeGaro Russo. Mrs. Fear was educated in Johnstown schools and employed at Cresendoe Glove Co. for nineteen years, retiring in 1978.She had also been a part-time cafeteria aide at Park Terrace school for several years. A communicant of Sacred Heart Church, she was also a member of the Rosary Society and the Ida McGinnis senior citizens. Essie was married September 19, 1936 to William H. Fear who pre-deceased her in 1986. She is survived by her sons; William Delia Fear of Gloversville and Donald W. Linda Fear of Port Jefferson, Long Island. Mrs. Fear is also survived by her sister, Marie Lynch of Gloversville a brother John Russo of Wilmington, Delaware, her grandchildren; Christine and Craig Fear, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers; Dominic, Roland, Edward, William, James, Charles and a second brother Charles Russo. A prayer service will be held 9:15 am Wednesday at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, followed at 10 am by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
