Obituary of Betty Lou Cook

Betty Lou Love Cook, 65, of Lusso Road, past away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2008 at home with her loving family by her side. She was very determined and courageous women whom battled Breast Cancer for two and a half years. Betty's family whom was tragically lost by fire included her parents and four other siblings' names unknown. She was born August 4, 1943 and was the daughter of her adopted parents the late Alexander and Elsie Love. She was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. She was employed at The Leader Herald at the time of her diagnosis and was formerly employed at Liberty Enterprises and the Fonda- Fultonville Central School. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and camping. She also enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, baking, flea markets and garage sales. On June 30, 1962, Betty married Gerald Bub Cook, together they raised their four children, two sons Jeffrey D. Cook of Fultonville and David A. Cook Patti of Fultonville; two daughters Terri Cook of Fultonville and Kathleen M. Robinson who passed away September 24, 1999, son-in-law Bill Robinson; 7 grandchildren, Justin, Savannah, Lynan, Billy, Gerry, Matthew and Cassandra; a sister Margaret Daley; nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Betty was also predeceased by a brother Paul Daley. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial graveside service to be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at 1:00 PM at the Maple Avenue Cemetery in Fultonville with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to the Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the Avon Foundation Walk for Breast Cancer, 1345 Avenue of the Americas' NY, NY 10105. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY
