Obituary of Antoinette Carolina Madonna

Antoinette Carolina Madonna, 92, of the McAuley Residence, Albany, NY entered eternal rest on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn with her daughter and son-in-law at her side. She has now joined her loving husband and friend of 56 years, Thomas H. Madonna who entered Christ's kingdom on September 22, 2004. Antoinette was the eldest of 10 children born to Giovanni and Pasqualina Cioffi Stanzione in Rutland, VT on March 1, 1916. Following her marriage in 1948, she lived in Amsterdam, NY until 2002 when she moved to Glenmont, NY to be near her daughter. Ann was a communicant of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam, NY for over 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering with her husband, Tom, for the annual parish spaghetti dinners and other church functions. Ann was an accomplished seamstress and loved gardening, crocheting, and especially cruising with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her spirit of determination and zest for life. She leaves behind her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Michele Madonna O'Reilly and John O'Reilly of Glenmont, NY; sister, Angelina Stanzione, brothers; Albert Stanzione and John.Stanzione Jr. of CA; a brother-in-law, Pasquale DiSorbo of Schenectady, several sisters-in-law and her dear nieces and nephews. Services are Thursday at 8:45 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 am at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Interment will take place, Friday, October 10, 2008 at 10:30 am, at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. A calling period will begin at 8:00 am Thursday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to remember Antoinette in a special way may send a donation in her memory to the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, 319 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208. Her daughter and son-in-law would like to extend sincere gratitude to the entire staff of the Hospice Inn; Drs. Robert Quimby and Ronald Hoenzsch for their kindness and compassion. Also a special thank you to the McAuley Residence, our extended family, friends, and co-workers for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
