Obituary of Phyllis S. Morrison

Mrs. Phyllis S. Morrison, 77, of Gloversville, died Thursday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. She was born May 27, 1931 in Gloversville, daughter of the late Kenneth E. and Nellie Smith Culver. Mrs. Morrison was educated in Gloversville schools and employed early in her life as a nurse's aide at the former Turpin Nursing Home. She had also worked at Coleco Industries and in the laundry department at Robison & Smith for many years. Phyllis enjoyed crocheting and the comedy club activities at the senior citizen center. A long time active member of St. James Lutheran Church, she was also a member of the daughters of St. James of the church. She is survived by her husband, James H. Morrison, of Gloversville, and her children: Deborah Blackford of Johnstown, Marian Bingham of Wauseon, Ohio, Patricia Aspinwall of Howes Cave, NY, Karen Morrison of Gloversville, Ronald Morrison of Madison, MS and Richard Morrison of Lacey, WA. Phyllis is also survived by her brothers: Robert Culver of Gloversville, Francis Johnson of Yuma, AZ, Eugene Culver of St. Johnsville and George Culver of Gloversville. Eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Marion Culver and a brother, Clark Culver. There will be no calling hours. A private graveside service will be conducted at the convenience of her family. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 521 N. Main Street, Gloversville, N.Y. 12078 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville.
